Coffin Mountain

Access

Seen here from the west looking east, is a flat-topped 5771' mountain off the Santiam Highway 15 miles beyond Detroit, along Highway 22. Turn on Straight Creek road just past Marion Forks. Follow signs to Coffin Mountain trail. A road forks to the right off of Road 11, which is the Quartzville Road.

Hike a gentle slope one mile to the summit. Advanced conditions apply to the launch and landing.

Launch: from summit ridge, into west and northwest winds.Lower benches have also been launched and landed on. LZ will be clearcuts and roads out in front, or top/bench land.
