Mt. Hebo
Photo shows Jim Donaldson, flying from center launch area of Mt. Hebo, March 1994. Jim and Ancil landed half way to the Nestucca River, along Boulder Creek near a clearcut and logging road. There was not much lift on a light north wind day. We calculated a 5:1 glide out to the clearcut and that was close to what we got.
The east cliff is a potential launch area. Short hops have been made from the center knobs and the west peak, where the US Air Force used to maintain a radar dome.
